Portland punk rock vets form new band Pretty Deadly, release debut single and video "Woe is Me"

The newly formed trio featuring members of Drawback, Burn the Stage and ex-guitarist of Ninjas with Syringes teamed up and dropped a classic pop punk anthem “Woe is Me” on May 1st. Everything about this jam screams early 2000’s Drive-Thru Records and I am fucking here for it!

The nostalgia pours in immediately with the opening scene of the video, which I won’t give to much away.. but it involves a legit 90’s camcorder and a Sega Genesis. The opening guitar riff starts as you’re thrown into a warehouse and the rest of the band rages in. Travis Shoemake crushes the verses with some punk rock grit and Blaine Gorze brings home the chorus. I’ve always dug the idea of the simplistic Blink-era instrumental bridge that breaks up the song just enough to pull you in another direction as you hit the last chorus.

It’s a really well crafted modern pop punk song and I highly recommend you check it out. Listen Here
